The federal government should take action to boost the speed and accessibility of the secure cloud adoption process and update guidance on cloud safety, according to a recent policy roadmap from a group of nonprofit corporations providing recommendations for Congress, the White House and agencies.
“Significant opportunities exist to enhance our federal government’s cloud computing security,” the Cloud Safe Task Force says in a paper released on Feb. 14. The paper provides recommendations in 10 areas with a focus on fostering a “collaborative approach” to improving the federal cloud landscape.
The task force was launched in September 2023 by MITRE, the Cloud Security Alliance, the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center and the IT Acquisition Advisory Council “to review government cloud infrastructure and to offer solutions to address threats,” according to the paper.
