VA Research and Quality Improvement Support
MITRE experts support VA research and quality improvement efforts across domains, including biostatistics, epidemiology, and data science.
VA investigators can access MITRE's technical experts for research and quality improvement initiatives.
As the operator of VA’s federally funded research and development center, MITRE offers specialized support for research and quality improvement initiatives across the organization, applying the same high-level technical capabilities we deliver to all of our federal agency partners.
These include:
- Biostatistics and epidemiology
- Clinical research
- Quality improvement, with experience working in VA
- Data science and advanced analytics, including AI, machine learning, and AI assurance
- Real-world data/real-world evidence study design and execution
- Research interoperability to facilitate integration with non-VA data sources
- Digital health, including app development and patient-focused digital health interventions
- Health services research including health policy, behavioral science, health economics
- Cybersecurity
MITRE staff bring substantial experience in managing the full research lifecycle—from study design and grant applications to data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation—supporting investigators and their teams at every stage of their projects.
Working with MITRE
MITRE can support internally funded VA research and quality improvement efforts via the Center for Enterprise Modernization, which we operate on behalf of VA.
We can also support externally funded clinical trials, observational studies, or other initiatives through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with VA-affiliated research and education corporations (NPCs).
For more information, please contact va-research@mitre.org. In the subject line, please include the VA Medical Center or NPC with which you are affiliated.
