Fourteen patents developed by MITRE have been included in the Department of War’s “Defense Patent Holiday” pilot program.
The program provides industry with a two-year, royalty-free Commercial Evaluation License to evaluate and commercialize a curated set of defense technologies, reducing upfront cost and adoption risk. These patents span areas including sensing, materials, energy, aviation safety, and quantum technologies, and are intended to accelerate the transition of critical capabilities for operational use.
