Performance.Gov: Shrinking the Cyber Talent Gap by Increasing Opportunities for Individuals on the Autism Spectrum

A MITRE proposal to increase the number of workers on the autism spectrum in federal cybersecurity jobs won the GEAR Center Challenge Grand Prize. Jim Cook and Teresa Thomas wrote about the project on the Performance.Gov blog:

“Adults on the autism spectrum are widely excluded from the workforce because many organizations lack the infrastructure and training to attract, retain, and grow this uniquely talented population,” write Cook and Thomas. “However, with the right training for job candidates, hiring managers, and colleagues, this underutilized population could be a key to strengthening the nation’s cybersecurity workforce.”
