Workforce Diversity Magazine Honors MITRE as a Top Employer

August 2014

Workforce Diversity for Engineering & IT Professionals Magazine has named MITRE to its 2014 list of “Top 50 Employers.” With 152,048 readers, the magazine is the most widely read publication by engineering and technical professionals who are minorities, women, and people with disabilities. The Top Employers list is based on results of an annual survey sent to a random selection of readers. Survey participants are asked which companies they would prefer to work for and which companies they think offer the best working environments for engineers and IT professionals who are members of underrepresented groups. This year, MITRE was ranked number 25, up from 28 in 2013. Microsoft, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems were also named to the 2014 list.

“It’s an honor to be included on the Workforce Diversity list, and humbling to be in such good company,” said Adrienne Thomas-Loftin, manager of Employee Engagement and Inclusion at MITRE. “This recognition confirms that diversity and inclusion are key to MITRE’s success. Without the wide range of perspectives and experiences our employees provide, we would not be as effective in helping solve critical national challenges—in defense, healthcare, aviation and cybersecurity.”

The “Top 50 Employers” list appears in the summer 2014 issue of Workforce Diversity for Engineering & IT Professionals Magazine.
