Together we are ushering in a new phase of vehicle automation and ITS research by merging MITRE's whole of nation safety mission with NVIDIA's world-class computing and simulation. The digital proving ground, DPG is a reality, offering users a secure, validated, and objective means to prove their technologies using customized tools and virtually limitless scenarios. This unique resource will accelerate deployment and US leadership of life-saving technologies. The DPG enables virtual testing of automated vehicles in a simulation environment to fill the critical safety assurance gap between controlled track testing, and high consequence roadway testing. Secure and private access is controlled by the user portal, allowing users to orchestrate simulations and facilitate controlled sharing. At the heart of DPG is the MITRE Informatics Engine, or MIE, a data analytics platform that securely stores and sends simulation inputs and results. The MIE generates metrics and key performance indicators, enabling organizations to evaluate their systems and drive innovation and safety. DPG'S Brain, the simulation environment, is built on NVIDIA's Omniverse. DPG'S simulation environment uses industry standard universal scene description to ensure compatibility across communities. The DPG is about instilling confidence, using tools like DPG objectively demonstrates the safety assurance of automated vehicles that industry seeks, that governments require, and that the public demands.
